Beyond the Frontier

Economic disparities, slavery, and the Civil War, alongside the pressures of "Manifest Destiny" and the displacement of Native tribes, with the transition from an agricultural society to industrialization, urbanization, abolitionism, and temperance, in a century of significant progress and deep divisions. These divisions played a crucial role in shaping the nation, ushering in an era of both advancement and intense conflict.
